Pregnancy: Mom, Son and Their BabyHaving a baby is one of the biggest objections to incestuous relationships, but these fears are largely unfounded (or at least exaggerated). There are many misconceptions and misconceptions regarding the health of children born to incestuous couples. Regardless, pregnancy should be the main consideration. Although talk of higher genetic defects in people born due to inbreeding is somewhat exaggerated, there are risks. Pregnancy is a risk for anyone who has unprotected heterosexual intercourse. Yes, a mother can become pregnant from her own son's sperm. If this is an undesirable consequence, consider options for protection. There are different opinions on this issue. This is a very personal decision that you need to make together, but don't be afraid to take this risk if you're both comfortable with it. There are many incestuous couples, including mothers with sons, who have and raise happy, healthy children together. The reality is that most incestuous sexual encounters do not result in birth. Some partners choose not to do this, while others simply cannot. Those who choose not to do so may simply not want children, or they are afraid of being discovered, or the relationship is purely carnal in nature with no plans to live as a long-term romantic couple. Others fear having a “mutant” baby, which is largely a debunked myth. The Myth of the "Mutant Child"Perhaps the most common objection to incest is the myth of the "mutant child." Contrary to popular belief, most births to incestuous parents do not produce children with significant birth defects or other genetic problems. They are happy, healthy, bright and attractive people. We don't hear about healthy children born to incestuous parents... partly because their true origins are usually hidden. In truth, children born to incestuous parents are only slightly more likely to have genetic problems than children born to non-incestuous parents. One study found that the risk may be 2% lower. There are many factors that influence genetics other than blood relationship. Age-related risk factorsWhen a mother is pregnant with her son, age may be a risk factor. Starting from the age of 35, the risks during pregnancy increase - they are higher than with incest itself. However, there are women well over 40 who have healthy children, including those who have a child with their son. Do the math yourself. The mother of an 18-year-old son may be very young, she may be about 35 years old, and she is quite capable of conceiving. However, there is a very short window of time during which it is possible for a mother to become pregnant with her son, between the time the son can consent to sex and the time his mother reaches menopause. Therefore, mother-son couples who want to have children together should try it early, while mom is still able, or consider other family options, such as adoption. Evidence of RelationshipThe main problem with a mother and son conceiving a biological child together is that your offspring provide evidence of your sexual relationship. The good news is that paternity information is not legally binding, so the father can remain anonymous. However, a simple DNA test will confirm a close relationship. Questions to AskIs your relationship long-term enough to support co-parenting? Are both partners ready to raise children during this time? If it's just a temporary fling, don't have children together unless one of you plans to raise the child as a single parent. There are cases when only one of the partners is interested in the birth and raising of a child, and the other simply acts as a sperm/egg donor. This can be acceptable if both agree to it. Mom is already the parent of an adult child and may not want to start raising another one all over again. On the other hand, the son may just be starting his adult life and may not be ready for such responsibility.
  • If you want children together, do you want them to be biological?
  • Is there a better alternative, such as adoption or surrogacy?
  • How will you hide paternity? Unless you are in the rare situation where your relationship is legitimate, come up with a plausible story and stick to it.
  • What will you tell your child when he or she is older? Will you tell him or her the truth? Will your child be able to keep your secret?
  • Will you extend your incestuous relationship to your child when he or she is old enough?

I definitely had a pregnancy scare when I was 14 ( and it was my Fathers) which no one knew…. As a single Mom to my Son David today I’d definitely be honored to birth our own child.
